J is for Jaguar
Sir William Lyons and William Walmsley combined their skills and expertise back in 1922 to create the Jaguar legacy. A prestigious, luxury sports car and a globally recognized brand name in the motoring world. The manufacturer went from strength to strength in the 20th century, producing some of the most successful sports cars ever, such as the fastest production for its time in 1992, the 542bhp XJ220, with a top speed of 217mph. And of course, the Jaguar E-Type, which is still owned and raced by car enthusiasts, with only 1 currently registered in Ireland! The wiki page is a very interesting read. As of March 2017, there are 6,305 Jaguars live in the Irish fleet below.
Popularity of the manufacturer is on the rise in Ireland with 277 new cars registered already in the first three months of 2017! The majority of these sales being the stylish new 2.0L Diesel F Pace Jeep with an RRP of around €50,000. August to December 2016 was a busy few months for the Jaguar fleet in terms of car sales with a total of 906 sales during this period. The most popular second hand car being the X-Type.
Of these, 581 car sales were used cars with two or more previous owners. A larger number of previous owners gives greater opportunity for vehicles to be clocked, written off or stolen. Always ensure you keep an eye out and be cautious of these vehicles, especially if you are not buying from a main Jaguar dealer, a market leading Cartell Car Check will clear up any uncertainties around a cars history.
