    Hi Richard,
I’m sorry to disagree with you, according to the Irish Calendar summer begins on the 1st of May and ends 1st of August. Even children in Irish schools learn from their textbooks that the summer season starts in May and includes June and July, but not August. Sorry to get all “Ann and Barry” with you. Here is a wiki link that may be of interest.

Well its up for debate as other sources state “According to meteorologists, summer extends for the whole months of June, July, and August in the northern hemisphere” You can also see answers here http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Which_months_are_in_summer Lets see who agrees with who!

Richard, That link is hardly a credible source. You will have to do better.
